An alleged Abu Sayyaf sub-leader in Sulu has surrendered to the military, claiming he was tired of running away from pursuing government troops, a Mindanao-based military official said Tuesday.
Joint Task Force Sulu commander Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana identified the sub-leader as Udon Hashim, who surrendered to the task force last April 27 along with two other companions.
"Napagod na rin sa katatakbo, at the same reason, hindi na rin n'ya gusto, hindi nila gusto yung mga ginagawa ng mga kasamahan nila," Sobejana said. "Saka disorganized na talaga sila, di nila alam ano gagawin."
Sobejana did not identify the two other Abu Sayyaf members who surrendered to the military.
He said the three surrendered their firearms to the military.
An unknown person notified the task force on Hashim's surrender, according to Sobejena.
"Mayroon silang kinontact, tapos pinasundo namin. Actually binangko muna ng custodial debriefing at marami silang naisawalat na makakatulong sa ating kampanya," Sobejana said.
